The focus of European Maritime Day 2019 in Lisbon, Portugal, will be on blue entrepreneurship, innovation and investment to transform traditional maritime sectors and boost emerging technologies and value chains. A specific focus will be placed on research and innovation for an ocean without plastic.
AIMED AT: Maritime professionals, businessmen and oceanic leaders of the Academy, NGOs, companies, governments and public institutions.
Stakeholders will find that the EMD is a great opportunity to communicate with strategic partners, make new contacts, gain visibility into projects, activities and achievements, gain new insights into the changing landscape of EU policy and funding and provide information on the formulation of the European Maritime Policy. Through a dedicated pairing application, participants can request pairing spaces with other participants and publish their profiles online. We will also offer an interactive interactive exhibition experience with exhibitors organized by thematic groups.
PROGRAM:
The thematic sessions will focus on strategic themes such as: blue innovation ecosystems, future priorities for maritime research, blue investment and financial instruments, marine renewable energies, blue-bioeconomy, blue circular economy, smart and sustainable shipments, port technology clusters , etc.
The workshops of the interested parties: Aquaculture; Marine bio-economics and biotechnology; Coastal and marine environment, Climate action; Digitization and Big Data for maritime applications; Cooperation of the marine basin (including the outermost regions); Ports and port clusters; Maritime Security, Surveillance; Sustainable Tourism, Coastal Communities; Ordination of the maritime space; Ocean and offshore energy; Oceanic literacy, maritime skills and people; Marine research.
