Ports 4.0 Call: €6.75 Million to Drive Innovation in the Spanish Port Sector

The new Ports 4.0 call, promoted by Puertos del Estado and Spanish Port Authorities, is now open to foster innovation in the maritime-logistics sector.

Funding Tailored to Your Project The call offers three funding modalities adapted to the Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of each project:

Ideas Modality (TRL 1-2) Do you have an early-stage idea? This modality is designed for you. You will receive a fixed grant of €15,000 plus access to incubation services to help you develop your proof of concept. Submission deadline: 2 months from December 31st.

Commercial Projects (TRL 7-9) If your solution is market-ready, you can access funding of up to 80% of innovation costs, capped at €2,000,000. Submission deadline: 3 months from December 31st.

What Type of Innovations is Ports 4.0 Looking For? The call is open to solutions that generate real impact in any of these areas:

• Logistics efficiency and infrastructure: Operations optimization, flow management, and process improvement
• Environmental and energy sustainability: Emissions reduction, clean energy, and circular economy
• Digitalization and smart platforms: IoT, AI, blockchain, and automation
• Port security: Cybersecurity, access control, and risk prevention
• Innovation applicable to the nautical or fishing port sector

You will have access to three ports with different operational characteristics: Port of Valencia, Port of Sagunto, and Port of Gandía.
