Rural Vision Week: Imagining the future of Europe’s rural areas

The European Network for Rural Development (ENRD), in close cooperation with the European Commission, is organising a virtual event - ‘Rural Vision Week: Imagining the future of Europe’s rural areas’ between 22 and 26 March 2021.

This interactive event will include high level presentations and discussions, a marketplace, workshops and ‘fringe’ activities. These will involve European stakeholder participants in working together to contribute to the preparation of a long term Vision for the future of EU rural areas in relation to which the Commission is scheduled to adopt a Communication later this summer. Host a ‘virtual stand’ in ‘OUR RURAL’ Marketplace! Throughout Rural Vision Week, the ENRD Contact Point will provide space on our website for rural stakeholders, local communities, EU organisations, research projects and others to present aspects of their rural vision. If selected, you get a dedicated stand in the ENRD Marketplace, this allows you to present your rural vision messages using e.g. video clips, images, text. If you would like to be a Marketplace host, please contact [email protected] by 18 February 2021 – we will get back to you with guidance and more details on how to prepare your virtual stand.

During Rural Vision Week there will also be opportunities to host a short virtual ‘Fringe’ Workshop event, on the morning of Thursday 25 March 2021. If chosen, you will have a 45 minutes slot where you can shape your own rural vision session. The ENRD Contact Point will provide a Zoom platform, basic guidance and coaching on using Zoom, and technical support including on the day. Hosts are responsible for organising, facilitating and running their own event, with different formats possible.
